At Drive South Africa we believe in continued community support and development through projects and development, our affiliation with the Tourism Development Trust (TCD) as a trustee member and “Friend of the Trust” enable us to help facilitate community development at a grass roots level.
The TCD Trust is a tourism-focused development agency based in Cape Town, South Africa. TCD aims to make a difference at a grass-roots level in South Africa’s communities by consolidating the fund-raising and social investment efforts of companies within the South Africa Tourism industry. The TCD Trust is a registered non-profit organisation.
Discover Africa Group makes an annual donation to the trust, and offers pro-bono services to the trust. Andre Van Kets (Discover Africa Group director) is a trustee on the board of the Tourism Community Development Trust.
The TCD Trust has established a number of community projects in disadvantaged communities around South Africa, especially those that are closely linked to the popular tourism routes around South Africa. Their projects include: Masikhule Home Creche, Baphumlele Educare Centre, Baphumlele HIV/AIDS Respite Centre, Rosies Soup Kitchen, Blomvlei Multi-Purpose Centre Project as well as a few other smaller projects.
Drive South Africa operates an environmentally conscious work place, we take pedantic care to conserve resources and recycle materials. As Africans dedicated to, and dependant on our environment Drive South Africa is determined to help preserve our delicate planet, being ‘Green’ is not a promotional tool, it is a functional necessity.
