    Dear DriveSouthAfrica
    We will be spending the period 12-30 August in SA and wd like to hire a car for that period. 3 adults with normal baggage for that season. We shall be spending several days touring, then going up to Hoedspruit area (dirt roads) and Kruger NP. Could you please help us decide whether Daihatsu Terios would be adequate or whether it’s worth going for one size up, for example Renault Koleos or similar?

    Thank you for your enquiry with Drive South Africa.

    Where are you planning to collect and return the vehicle?

    The Daihatsu Terios is very appealing due to its 4x4 capabilities and good price, however the vehicle is small. It’s brilliant for 2 adults with luggage but could be a little cramped for 3 adults plus luggage. Leg-room for the person sitting in the back seat is limited and the luggage space can only handle 2 medium-sized suitcases and a couple of smaller bags.

    Kevin has sent you a quote for the Renault Koleos, the Hyundai ix35 and the Daihatsu Terios 4x4.

    We would advise you to go for the Hyundai ix35/Renault Koleos group – it might be a bit more expensive but you’re guaranteed a more comfortable drive for the size of your party.

    Dear Drive South Africa,

    Please qoute me on Hyundai ix35 for three days, we will going from Johannesburg to Rustenburg. The dates are pick up is on the 20th January 2012(Braamfontein Branch preferably), driving to Rustenburg on the 21th January 2012 coming back the 22nd January 2012. There is possibility that we will exceed 200 kilometres.

    Dear Drive SA.  We are two adults and two sons aged 13 and 10.  We will be travelling with 2 large suitcases, two medium ones and a cabin pull along bag.  Arrive Cape Town airport on 21st October and depart 1st November.  Will either of these two vehicles be suitable and are they similar in size to the Toyota Verso?
