Five reasons why you should visit the Storms River

Located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Storms River is the one of the most adventurous small village in the country. If you love adventures and want to spend some of the most exciting days in your life, you should definitely visit this adventurous African town. The following are the top five reason why you should visit the Storms River.

Go for a cruise up the River

You can take a passenger boat form the Storms River mouth, in Tsitsikamma National Park, which departs every 45 minutes and you can admire the views around you and the spectacular Storms River gorge. You can see many colourful birds in the sky, fishes, stingrays and maybe even sharks in the river. Keep in mind, though, that at some points of the cruise, the fern-encrusted walls are so tall and the river so narrow, that you can barely see the blue sky above you. If you wish to be more adventurous, you can also prefer some kayaking further up the river.

Take a hike

You can tour different hikes in the area. For example, the 6-day Tsitsikamma Trail, which starts at Nature's Valley and ends at the village is one of the most amazing experiences in the area. Or you may take a coastal hike (Otter Trail hike), which lasts 5 days, which offers some of the most glorious sceneries. If you take the Otter Trail hike, you can have the chance to see sections of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and you will pass through local indigenous forests. Hire a car in South Africa that is cheap and reliable.

River Tubing

If you want to live an adventure of tubing, rock jumping, hiking, and swimming, take a river tubing, which takes place in the Tsitsikamma National Park. You just have to remember that the day of tubing starts at 7 am and finishes at around 12 pm. Depending on the levels of the water, your adventure at blackwater tubing can range from a simple experience to a great adventure.

You can take a guided tour with 4x4, where you can see the amazing forest, the old passes from the comfort of the vehicle. Or you can take a mountain bike, where you can find a number of routes, including a 10km loop up to the Storms River Peak.

Go for Bungy jumping

The Bloukrans Bridge is the highest single arch object of its type in the whole world. Just standing on the edge and getting down 215 metres is a very daring experience. In fact, this place is the highest commercial bungy jump in the whole world. If you are a very adventurous person, you can take the chance to do it.
