Schuster kraal

Located opposite Scarborough Beach in the heart of the Cape Point Nature Reserve, Schusterkraal is a great braai area if you’re looking to spend some quality time with the family and escape the busy city life.

Tucked behind sand dunes, dogs are allowed at Schusterskraal, and they’ll love running on the beach and dipping their paws in the crashing waves.

Tweede Tol

Where: Limietberg Nature Reserve

Entrance fee: Contact 021 483 0190 for updated rates

Located within the Limietberg Nature Reserve, day visitors only have to pay a small conservation fee to access this braai spot, located close to the Witte River. The little ones will enjoy dipping their toes into the Witte River

Zonnekus Holiday Resort

Where: Melkbosstrand

Entrance fee: R50 for day visitors. Children under 3 enter free. Vehicle fee also required.

If you’re looking to take a break and simply have fun with the family, then a trip to Zonnekus Holiday Resort should not be missed. Day visitors can enjoy a fun-filled day braaing or picnicking. For the little ones, there’s a play park, trampolines and swimming pools to enjoy.

Little Bay

Located a mere 20 minutes away from Cape Town, Little Bay provides day visitors with spectacular views of Table Mountain. It can get quite windy here, so it’s important to pick the right day to go – but the views are well worth the effort.
