Cape Town International Kite Festival

This weekend is beach time and I would recommend the beach in Muizenberg, for the International Kite Festival on Saturday and Sunday. This year’s theme is “Uplifting Mind and Body”.

This Festival is one of Africa’s biggest kite festivals and attracts people from all over the world. More than 20,000 visitors come to Muizenberg beach to admire the beautiful, colorful and creative kites from different countries.

Many foreign and famous kite lovers come to show off their wonderful designs in the air.

The brilliant kite creations are not the only attraction of the day, kite-making, food stalls, amusement for kids and craft markets creates a complete program for the whole family!

The Festival is on the fly from 10h00 to 18h00. Entry is R15 for adults and R5 for children. With enough parking spaces in Muizenberg, you can easily take the car and fly a kite!

Cool post Anna, Muizenberg is a great place to hold this festival, I’m sure the wind will not disappoint on the day! There is a great atmosphere there on the weekend these days, with lots of people from town making the trip south to do a bit of surfing. The Empire Cafe and Knead serve good coffee and a tasty breakfast too.
