We are considering a Self Drive Hilux Camper for 2 in Jan 2012.
On the Botswana Tour 15 days - do we have the freedom to maybe break the tour for 2 nights say in Moremi and rent accom at our expense and then rejoin the tour in say Chobe or the Falls?Also in yr Camp Equipment list there is no mention of Portable Toilets or any Camping Toilet Facilities for the ladies? Pls can you advise.

We can definitely assist you with a camping-equipped Toyota Single or Double Cab 4x4 in January next year – if you give us your rental dates and location, I can send you a fully-inclusive quote.
With regards to the package tours, we really prefer you to stick with the group throughout the trip as this is a structured tour – we have also had experiences in the past where people have left the group, saying they would rejoin at a specific time/place, then deciding not to do so at the last minute – this then disrupts/delays the rest of the group.
We would definitely suggest you hire the camper vehicle and do your own thing – this way, you can move at your own pace.
With regards to the portable toilets, these are really very basic (literally a chair with a hole in the middle and a bucket underneath J) – you will find proper toilets and shower facilities at most of the campsites along the way.
